The rail industry has traditionally used bespoke electronics for trackside and moving technology. Our approach it to introduce standard Commercial Off The Shelf Technology wherever possible as this reduces both the initial cost and the cost of ownership as the equipment and skills required to support it are more widely available. Where a rail approval is an absolute requirement, we have access to the Siemens SIPLUS extreme Rail range of products and can cost effectively build these into systems for both Freight and Passenger rolling stock as well as Station Buildings.

Our standard fuelling system is based on industry standard building blocks and offers a modular approach to upgrading loco fuelling stations providing bulk tank level monitoring, loco identification, fuel dispense monitoring and reporting of fuel usage against loco ID. 

At Technique we have COTS based solutions for digitalisation of depots and rolling stock. We are well versed in the installation of IOT Edge processors in Locos to provide GPS and operational data. These devices are then linked to other onboard systems to give remote access to performance and logging systems allowing transmission of records direct form the loco over GSM networks thereby saving time and manpower when data is needed. 

One of our major thrusts as a company in general but specifically within the rail industry is to reduce the amount of electronics sent to landfill. Every year tons of perfectly serviceable equipment are disposed of because it is considered either to difficult to handle or the OEM doesn’t offer a repair service. This has a direct impact on your finances as new replacements are expensive and the failed equipment has costs associated with disposal through the correct WEEE channels.

We have solutions for your depot operatives to allow them to identify what equipment can be repaired, storage systems for the equipment and collection on demand or by routine. Once in our workshop the unit is assessed and a quotation offered for repair. If you decide not to repair it or it is beyond repair it can be returned to you or scrapped by us FOC.

All repaired items come with 12 months in service warranty for the whole item.
